Polypropylene pipe is light weight but as strong and durable as high density Polyethylene. Polypropylene is excellent at high temperatures where thermoplastics such as PVC and Polyethylene cannot be used. Polypropylene pipe has resistance to common reagents such as sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda. Resistance to abrasion is very high. Polypropylene pipe is not recommended to be used with strong oxidizing acids such as chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatics.
Schedule 80 CPVC Pipe- CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) piping systems have many benefits over conventional piping systems. CPVC SCH 80 piping systems offer excellent corrosion and chemical resistance, good physical and mechanical properties, easy reliable joining methods and excellent service life. CPVC pipe has been used for process piping for corrosive liquids and in hot and cold water applications. The maximum temperature for most CPVC piping products is 210°F, approximately 60ºF higher than PVC piping products which widens the application for several chemical service requirements. CPVC piping systems have other advantages such as increased hanger spacing at elevated temperatures compared to PVC. CPVC pipe also has low flame spread and smoke generation characteristics.
